This letter was depressing to read. How did she expect anyone to join the CPUSA after Webb and his crew started dismantling the party, ceased running candidates, liquidated the PW and became cheerleaders for the Democrats. And how about all the loyal comrades they expelled or pushed out. Even if the party does change its name, people will still know, or find out that it is the old CP. The media will certainly let people know that. And this new organization she wants to launch, will it only function at election time to back the democrats ?
I just read a piece by Webb’s school teacher dauther about “crimes of socialist countries.”
The sophistication is so lacking with the coup makers, that they are on the same page as Conquest, Solzitsyn, et al.
This is rather pathetic as even mainstream sell-out historians (or what’s left of the academy) are quietly abandoning the mercenary work of the worst, and briefly mainstreamed, Conquest and the non-college affiliated Stanford Institute crowd.
When knowledge is lacking, the eddies that the party was in get swept away by the commercial, faux intellectual current. Unfortunately, this means all the endowment of the party and the defender of history is swept away down the Webb’s personal bank account, as they play democrat to a party that loathes them and rejects the FDR period.
