INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY OF THE WFTU WITH THE WORKERS AT THE MAXIMUS COFFEE GROUP IN HOUSTON, USA

The World Federation of Trade Unions wants to inform the workers of the world and the world public opinion about the struggle of the workers at the Maximus Coffee Group in Houston, USA against the plans of the management and the owners, who demand up to 50% of wage cuts and drastic reduction of healthcare and retirement benefits. The workers of that company carried out a long strike, fighting united against the efforts of the company bosses who used scabs and other means in order to end the strike and the workers struggles and they stayed united. This comes to prove that even in the most developed countries of the world, like the US, workers’ rights and dignity will always come second, when it comes to profits of the capital. Class unity of the workers and their class struggle are of vital importance for the workers fight for their rights, against exploitation.

The World Federation of Trade Unions, on behalf of its 86 million unionized workers in the 5 continents, salutes and solidarizes with the workers at the Maximus Coffee Group in Houston and their struggle. We express our total class solidarity and moral support to the workers during their contract negotiations.
